July 2nd, 2007 Kapono to Toronto

It didn’t take Kapono long to bolt out of Miami. In the first day of Free Agency, the sharpshooter left the state and the country to sign a 4 year contract with Toronto starting at six million dollars. Kapono led the league in three point shooting and was expected to cash-in on his great season in a big way elsewhere.

The drafting of Daequan Cook is looking better than ever right now “He has the best shooting stroke of anyone we’ve brought in here.” said coach Pat Riley about the young guard from Ohio State. Daequan Cook is expected to get a good amount of minutes this year with Kapono leaving and Dwyane Wade currently recovering from knee and shoulder surgery.
